Brazil High-Speed Optical Cable Project
Brazil has officially proposed conducting a Technical and Economic Feasibility Study in 2025 to evaluate the creation of a high-speed submarine cable network connecting BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). The 440km repeaterless trunk-and-branch system will link 12 oil and gas production platforms with two cable landing stations in Brazil's Anchieta, Espirito Santo and Barra do Furado, Rio de Janeiro.
