Energy Interconnection in Eastern Europe
At a time when Europe is redefining its energy architecture and Ukraine continues to fight for energy security in the face of Russian aggression, a strategic initiative coordinated between five regional operators—Greece (DESFA), Bulgaria (Bulgartransgaz), Romania (Transgaz), Moldova. Ember's Europe Electricity Interconnection data tool allows users to explore the use (flows) and potential (capacity) of the cross-border transmission grid across European and neighbouring countries. This study evaluates the transmission requirements for interconnection of the European electricity network for the years 2030 and 2040.
