Four Bridges in Somalia
Mogadishu (HOL) - The Muslim World League, a global non-governmental Islamic organization, has built four new bridges and a six-kilometre canal in Beledweyne, the administrative center of Somalia's central Hiiraan region. Sheikh Town, Somaliland – [12th August 2024] – Today the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Roads Development (MoTRD), celebrated the official opening of 62km of road and four vital bridges between Burao and Berbera City. This will effectively provide better connectivity between Eastern Somaliland, which is the largest source of Somaliland livestock. The construction of four urban roads31 have been prioritized as "quick win" candidate subprojects and feasibility studies and preliminary designs have been completed for the roads under SUIPP. Ali Yusuf Ali, on Saturday officially inaugurated the reconstructed Sabiid and Anole bridges in the Lower Shabelle region, marking a key milestone in the government's infrastructure.
