This study explores hybrid configurations integrating solar PV, biomass gasification, hydrogen fuel cells, pumped hydro storage and batteries to address seasonal deficits and climate vulnerability, using Nepal's hydropower-dependent energy sector as a reference case. As a solution to this energy crisis, the concept of Hybrid Hydropower–Solar Integrated Systems has emerged as a promising and innovative approach towards meeting the energy needs of the nation. This article aims to provide a comprehensive insight into how Nepal can develop such systems to ensure. These systems combine solar panels, battery storage, and grid/diesel backup to deliver: "A recent UNDP study showed hybrid systems could cut Kathmandu's carbon emissions by 42,000 tons annually – equivalent to planting 1 million trees. Nepal has good solar and moderate hydroelectric potential but has negligible wind- and fossil-energy resources.
